Foo Dog Regrets

Usually, I try to live my life with the motto 'No Regrets'.
Today, however, I can't help but feeling like a complete regretful foo....l!

You see, when I was in Florida the other week we went to a big antique and flea market and I found the most incredible, large scale, turquoise foo dog pair. They instantly reminded me of Jen's in this bookshelf styling:

Ahhhh! How good are they? I could cry.
Alright..back to my story.
I looked at the price tag and they were $60 for the pair. But the booth was having a take 20% off everything sale, bringing them down to $48. I love that flea markets have no tax and I bet I could have bargained them down a couple dollars more!

But, for some reason...I left them.
I think it was partially that I didn't know how much foo dogs were worth (which, by the way, turns out is alot more than 48 dollars...I should have known!)
and partially because I was trying to spend wisely and save while on vacation (and I really don't have a spot for these).

Either way...I REGRET my decision, big time. If Florida wasn't a 24 hour drive away I'd race back there right now! Instead, those foo dogs will haunt me for the rest of my life. Seriously..I may never get over this.

Have any of you ever left behind an item you wished you hadn't?

Decor Shopping

This weekend was spent in Burlington visiting friends, IKEA, and a flea market. Here is what I found:
I scored this amethyst chunk from the Flamborough Antique Market for only $3! I've been eyeing these up on Design Darling for ages, so I was so excited to find this! They look so pretty in vignettes:

I'm getting snazzy with decor for my antique bar cart with this vintage crystal wine decanter. Snapped it up for $20 at the flea.

At IKEA, I picked up the EIVOR throw I was coveting and this gorgeous tribal inspired lumbar pillow!
Sadly, they didn't have the pink and white striped BARBAR tray. Also the dream desk was beautiful but a bit too narrow for long nights doing homework, I think my legs would cramp up! I did buy my RIBBA picture frames though!

That's all I got but did you guys know the MALM dresser now comes mirrored? Super cool if you ask me.
What have YOU picked up decor shopping lately?

Flea Market Find: Brass Bar Cart (and giveaway reminder!)

This weekend, my big brother and I hit up the Aberfoyle flea market. I guess this means that I can check off number 3 on my Summer to Do List! It was huge, a little overwhelming even, but I found something that has been on my lust list for a long time: a brass bar cart:
To be honest, I don't really have anywhere to put this, but I bargained it down to $30 and just couldn't pass it up. I was in love. Now I'm looking to some of my favourite bar cart images for inspiration on how to style it perfectly.

What do you think? I am in love.
Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway for your chance to win TWO pairs of fab earrings :)

ps. I did the magnet test and my bar cart appears to be brass plated rather than solid brass. The finish is a bit tarnished..Does anyone have suggestions for a good gold spray paint?

Design to Do List: Summer Edition

1) Learn to sew
via
I've got fabric picked out and I'm going to start simple with some pillows (with the help of my mama)! Wish me luck!

2) Continue to develop my drawings
via
Entering into design school in October, it makes me very nervous that I've never taken a drawing or art class. Look forward to many more editions of Wednesday's Doodles as I continue to work on my skills!

3) Go to an outdoor flea market
We have a local farmer's market in town which I love, but its mostly fresh produce and clothing. I'm talking about a big flea market with furniture and home goods!

4) Finish (ahem..start) my DIY projects
via
I've got atleast one major DIY project on my mind...I'll give a hint: It involves a four dollar coffee table I purchased at Good Will!
What are some of your summer goals?
