Oh (Flocked) Christmas Tree

I will be the first to admit I have never seen one of these in person, but I'm really smitten with the look of the snow on the branches. It seems a white Christmas isn't the norm anymore (dreaming of one this year of course! It's looking promising after the snowstorm we got this weekend), but this could be a fun way to ensure a snowy Christmas morning opening gifts. Would you do a flocked tree?

Make-Shift Christmas Vignette

One of the things that I'm struggling with this holiday season is being away at school with no Christmas decorations to keep up my festive spirit during finals. I decided to see what I could pull together to create a make-shift vignette out of things I already own. Here is what I came up with:
I tied a red ribbon around my mercury glass jar, moved my beloved brass deer over, and created the 'hope peace cookies' card using a stencil. I was inspired by this card from Kate Spade:

It just goes to show you that every day decor items can be repurposed for multiple uses! I can't wait to go home and decorate my tree and put up my real decorations, but for now this tides over my Christmas cravings! xox

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

My tip for your fabulous New Years Eve Party? Run out to the dollar store and get some disco balls and strings of beads, then bling out your chandelier like the picture above. It adds instant glamor and sparkle!

And of course, look fabulous yourself. End 2011 by looking and feeling your best, no matter what you're doing.

This is the dress that my boyfriend got me for Christmas, and I know he can't wait to see me wear it! New Years Eve offers up the perrrrfect opportunity to get a little dolled up.  I'm pairing it with the necklace he got for me, and some black alligator pumps (a la Breakfast at Tiffany's: "Be a Darling and look under the bed for a pair of alligator shoes"-Holly Golightly). I'll post some pictures tomorrow!

What are your NYE party decorating tips and what are YOU wearing?
I'd love to know!
