New Year, New Goals

2012 was a great year for me, but let's be honest, my resolution this time last year was to wear sweat pants less often....
This year, I've decided to make a list of real goals for my blog and my home to keep me focused.

A lot of these goals, especially the idea of doing a monthly vlog, make me extremely nervous because they involve putting myself out there. Here's to taking risks in the new year!
What are your goals for 2013?

NY Resolution Update - an OOTD Type Post

As you may recall, my New Years Resolution is to wear sweatpants to school LESS,which you can read about here. I thought I'd update you on how it's going. Basically I've just been going to work (I work in a messy warehouse so I can't be much of a fashionista there), or I've been lazing about the house enjoying my last bit of winter holidays.

Tuesday, however, was my first day back to school! I wanted to make it a good outfit day. But then, I woke up with some sort of stomach flu. Don't want to gross you out with the details, but there was a fair dose of nausea involved. I had to drag myself to school anyways because it takes A LOT to make me miss class. Believe me people, all I wanted to do was wear sweat pants. Instead, I settled for a comfy look but left the sweat pants at home...still though, I feel like I cheated a little bit. I didn't take a picture, but it looked a lot like this (except my sweater is in oatmeal, not grey):

TNA Longfit Hoodie: Aritzia. Black leggings: Garage. Sorel Camel Boots.
Wednesday morning I thankfully woke up feeling quite a bit better. And I got dressed up!I took these pictures at the end of the day, so I look a bit sleepy. Also, I don't have any full body shots, gotta work on that for next time, but I loved this look:

Sheer Kimono style top: Dynamite. Black camisole with lace: Dynamite. Dark skinny jeans: American Eagle.
I fell in love with this sheer kimono style blouse when I first saw it, but I held back on buying it because I wasn't sure I could pull it off. That night, I had a dream about it, so I went back and got it the next day. I paired it with a simple black cami, dark jeans, and flat black leather boots.

I don't usually wear jewelery, but I threw on a couple pieces today. The over-sized boyfriend style watch is from American Eagle for about only $30. The beaded bracelet I made myself in the fourth grade at a birthday party.

Thursday I went more basic. It's a rainy day here today:

Blue lightweight crewneck: PINK. White cami: Dynamie. Black Scarf: Walmart. Ripped skinny jeans: American Eagle. Rain boots and Inserts: Bed Bath and Beyond (funny right?)
I'm trying y'all!
How are YOUR resolutions/goals going?
Love always,
Tiffany Leigh

New Years Resolution

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a bit of a skeptic when it comes to New Years Resolutions. For the first few days, everyone approaches their resolutions with gusto and eagerness, but before long, real life resumes post-holidays and those good intentions fade into 'maybe next years'. 2012, however, is going to be a BIG, huge, lifechanging year for me.
1) I'm moving out of my parents' house
2) I'm starting a new educational path
3) I will be going to school with future designers in Toronto

These things all lead me to think that something has got to change in order to accommodate all of these grown up changes. My resolution: Look the part.

Something you should all know about me, I LOVE sweatpants, more than I probably should. This is not to say that I wear them all of the time, but I am definitely one of those students who rolls out of bed, throws on some sweats and shows up in class looking lazy (I should note that I am NOT actually lazy at school, just averaged a 91% this semester eeee). As an undergrad at a predominantly 'farming' university and having to drive forty five minutes just to arrive on campus, however, I've felt somewhat entitled to take advantage of the sweat pant luxury while I still can.

By the way, If you happen to be in the market for an amazing pair of sweatpants, I pretty much live in my Roots Original Pocket Sweats in Salt and Pepper. Cute, comfy and excellent quality. Available at http://canada.roots.com

BUT, I know that in Toronto, sweats everyday just won't cut it. Especially considering I will be attending a SMALL school where everyone I run into may play a potential role in my future career. Gotta represent myself right. Besides, I've got a lot of nice clothes that don't get worn nearly enough.

Thus, its time to start dressing more professionally, more often. Start putting my best foot forward to make those good first impressions, and look the part of a successful interior designer. It's never too early to start!

What's YOUR resolution? I'd love to hear :)
