Anyone Ever Eaten One?

I'm back from my trip to Halifax! Loved the Maritimes as always. Unfortunately, a couple of my meetings fell through, but I'm staying on the positive side because this meant more time with the boyfriend. I also started a second job today, serving at a local sports bar! Between these two jobs and school, I'm a busy bee, but I'll always find time for blogging.
One of the best restaurants that I ate at was the Five Fishermen. This place has a really cool history, and is rumoured to be haunted! The building was once a mortuary where many bodies off the Titanic were kept! While I didn't see any ghosts, this little (big)guy definitely creeped me out when he showed up on my plate! Sure I ordered lobster but in Ontario, it never comes in full form like this! After getting over my fears of touching it and alot of hard work, I was so satisfied. Yummy and fresh. Have any of you ever eaten a whole lobster like this?

treat it??

I love me a window sink

When we were re-modeling our house I knew I had to have a nice bright sink area so I opted to not add a window treatment and keep it clean and fabric free.

Here is my Current Kitchen Sink Window

well,

As time goes on I think maybe its time to add a little something something in the way of window treatments

I have found some inspiration photos currently getting me in the mood to change up the sink area a bit

Option 1
I could go with a sweet little fabric roman

Option 2
I could go with a little valance & woven double action

Or
Option 3
I could go with a cafe curtain with small drape rod

I think out of the options I like the cute little roman (Option 1) best...

Now the only choice to make

Fabric?

or Wovens?

Thoughts??

If you know me, I am sure you already know which is my pick!!
Can you lovers guess?

Regency library part II

Dear readers, a few weeks ago I told you about a Lefèvre Interiors library project, completely executed in the English Regency style. If you missed this post, you can read it HERE .

Remember I mentionned that I really needed to visit our client to take some ‘after’ pictures!

A couple of days after posting about this project, I received an email from our client , sending me…yes indeed…’after’ pictures!!! So I realized that my client was also a reader of my blog!!!! I was very surprised and enchanted at the same time!

Notice the British Regency period (1811-1820) elements: mahogany armchairs, double desk and especially the daybed. All this, together with the collection of antiques on the chimney and the skin of leopard on the daybed.testifies to a great classicism.

5 Beautiful daybed after a design by GEORGE SMITH (1756 – 1826).

Together with Thomas Hope (read more about Thomas Hope in my previous post HERE), GEORGE SMITH was a renown designer of the English Regency period. As being an Egyptologist in his earlier career, he was of course an enthusiast for the new Egyptian style. He published his “Collection of Designs for Household Furniture and Interior Decoration" in 1808, and four years later he published a further volume, “Collection of Ornamental Design After the Manner of the Antique". George Smith was delighted by Egyptian ornaments and found it a novelty he could not resist using to the full. Later he went on to produce a further major volume  which he proudly called “The Cabinet Makers and Upholsterers Guide” .

Oscar Worthy: Golden Inspiration

Tonight is the big night, the Academy Awards! To get us all in the mood, I've pulled together a few images of golden inspiration, truly award winning looks in my book!
via
^ I'm infatuated with that glittery golden beaded curtain on the left. Such a fabulous room.
via
^ As if the chevron settee and uniquely patterned wood floors didn't make for enough conversation in this beautiful room, please direct your eyes to the GOLD LEAF COFFERED CEILING. Looks like a lot of work, but totally worth the end result.
via
^ How about this beautiful and simple gold leaf chevron tray? I think that this could be easily done with some painter's tape and a gold leaf kit. Serve up some drinks on this baby at your very own Oscar party!
via
^ Glitzy and glamorous golden gallery wall!
Will you be watching the Oscars? Any favorites for the win?

Inspirational flower decoration

My dear readers, first off all I want to apologize for not being able to answer all of your emails you sent me the passed days. And to my blogger colleagues, please forgive me for not reading nor commenting on your latest blogposts. I have had a couple of very busy weeks concerning my business. And as you will understand, business comes first. I promise to do the best I can to answer all your emails and to read as much as possible blogposts the coming days.

This weekend I have to prepare a photoshoot of our home for an interior design magazine (I will tell you all about it later). So I was thinking about how I would love to see the rooms in our home decorated with flowers. Fortunately I filed a lot of inspirational images. So next Monday I will be busy decorating our home with flowers.

I wish all of you a wonderful weekend by sharing a few of my favorite flower decoration images!

Of most of the images I do not know the source. Sorry for that.
